Study Trip and Partner Meeting Bratislava 2030 (SECAP 2030)

At the end of April 2023, a study trip took place to Reykjavík, a partner city in Iceland. Representatives from the city hall, the Municipal Investment Bureau, and the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Comenius University were introduced to key documents and the sustainable development strategy of Reykjavík, which is preparing for climate change.

As part of the joint program, several topics were presented:

1. CREATION OF THE SUSTAINABLE CLIMATE AND ENERGY ACTION PLAN BRATISLAVA 2030;

4. DEVELOPMENT OF PUBLIC SPACES AND URBAN STRUCTURES IN REYKJAVÍK BASED ON PARTICIPATORY PRINCIPLES WITHIN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Bratislava was also presented with a set of manuals for the development of Reykjavík. Among these was a manual on urban agriculture, featuring presentations and inspiring examples of various methods of growing fruits and vegetables in different urban settings. Urban agriculture, with its focus on local produce, contributes to sustainable development, reduces the carbon footprint, and fosters community building.

5.  LOCATIONS THAT REDUCE THE IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE WITH A FOCUS ON STORMWATER MANAGEMENT MEASURES IN REYKJAVÍK;

6. USE OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES AND VISIT TO THE ORKA NÁTTÚRUNNAR GEOTHERMAL POWER PLANT WITH A PRESENTATION ON THE USE OF GEOTHERMAL ENERGY IN ICELAND:
